VILLAGE GREEN (Pueblo Verde) Santa Fe, New Mexico
Access to the village green can only be made by passing through the room blocks. One enters into the dwelling or continues “outside” via the open garden stair. This accentuates the open nature of the garden and conceptually joins the two grounds. The open stairs also allows for evaporative cooling from the water garden below to be channeled into the room blocks. The heat of the upper room blocks draws up the cool air of the water gardens below.
